Equine was born from a need to address equine nutritional
health in the 21st Century and remind us all of the horse's
evolved digestive system and how we must strive to meet the
fundamental nutritional needs of the horse within practical
management regimes.
The company was formed by Linda
Linnane BSc (Hons) after spending many years studying & working
with horses in southern Spain, where she witnessed many cases
of feed related pathologies.
On returning to England in
1992, Linda continued to study equine health and performance
and graduated in 1997 with a First
Class Honours Degree in Equine Science and Physiology.
During this period of time, she carried out some specialist
equine research at the Faculty
of Veterinary Science in Cordoba, investigating
muscle physiology in a group of Andalusian stallions. This research
became the subject of her Thesis and was later presented at
the International Conference
of Equine Sports Medicine & Science, then subsequently
published in the International
Journal of Anatomy. She has since written and
published several articles on equine nutritional health and
continues to work and teach on this subject throughout Europe and the Middle East.
From
1997 - 2000 Linda concentrated on researching and formulating
'Total' horse feed, initially for fibre & nutrient deficient
horses in southern Spain. The feed was subsequently launched
in the UK at the British Equine Event 2000 and continues to enjoy success in the UK, Spain and throughout Europe, where owners continually report
positive improvement in horses of all types in various disciplines
- without the use and expense of supplements & extras.
