A Testimonial from Jenny Rolfe

My two Spanish stallions, Delfin and Maestu, have been fed on Primero for several years now. I am totally convinced that the feed has been of great benefit to their overall condition and fitness. I feel confident that they are getting the balance of nutrition that they require as stallions in daily work.

Both horses are happy and content, which I feel is partly because of the environment and friendship we offer them, combined with the extra care given by correct nutrition. I have no hesitation in recommending Primero with total confidence.

"I breed Lusitanos in Worcestershire. My horses perform in, or are sold to perform in a variety of disciplines including Dressage, Showjumping, Western, Parelli, Display work, Driving or just plain old fashioned Pleasure Riding!

"Lusitanos are hotbloods and some of them can be very 'hot' rides if not fed appropriately. I have found that Primero keeps them in fabulous condition without adding to their innate Joia de vivre and sending them over the top. The riding horses and the breeding stock are all given Primero and I find that it meets their diverse needs unquestionably. The ingredients are all top quality, clean and dust free and no-one EVER leaves any!. I love the simplicity of one Total feed. No more messing about with cocktails of supplements and grain guesswork. When you add it all up you save time and money and the horses win as well.

"I have qualifications in teaching and horsecare to a professional level from more than one recognised body, so the perspective I view feeding from is not uninformed. I have no hesitation in unconditionally recommending Primero as a superb equine nutritional product.

"Negatiw (pictured right) has been fed Primero for years now. He passed the National Stallion Association Performance Test with flying colours and a Grade 1. He has showjumped, winning money up to Foxhunter level. He has competed in British Dressage and performs in Iberian Classical riding displays. He has been a successful competitor in Western trail and reining classes and is currently used as a display horse by a Parelli Natural Horsemanship Instructor. This typically versatile Lusitano is fed only grass and Primero."

"Russet is an Arab/Appaloosa cross, now 23 going on 7 and still in work. When I changed him from a veteran mix and chaff to Primero Equine Total, I noticed that he became far more laid back, his coat gleams in summer like it never has before, and he savours every mouthful of Total rather than bolting it down. He had a couple of places he used to rub but this stopped. I also noticed an improvement in hoof condition. His companion, a cob mare of 20 is also fed Total. She has undergone many of the above changes and Total has ensured a comfortable and happy retirement for her.

"I don't know what I would feed if for any reason Primero were to stop producing Total. I would have very unhappy horses. It is a uniquely wonderful feed"

"I started feeding Primero Equine in June 2005 to my two Appaloosas. They both have a sugar and protein intolerance, so I feed it with a little unmolassed chaff and carrot, supplemented with hay and haylage during the winter. I have not changed anything else in their diet.

The first thing I noticed was the sweet-itch that has plagued them both for years has been considerably reduced, to the point where I could leave their Boett blankets off and they still had a mane and a tail at the end of the summer. It wasn't a result that I was expecting and I can't prove it, but I think the Primero helped to stop them itching. Another benefit that was very noticable was the
change in their temperaments - both of them are much calmer.

One of my mares, Polka, was very nervous and excitable to the point that she would go into orbit at the slightest thing. It was becoming a major problem. In December I took her to Mark Rashid's clinic in Watford. It was her first clinic and the first time she had been away. She stayed in a massive livery yard with the M1 50 yds from her stable door. We walked her over the M1 bridge every morning for some grass and to stretch her legs, as she is not used to being kept in a stable! She had several chiropractic treatments and lessons in the indoor school in front of about 30 people every day. There were horses everywhere, diggers, little pavement sweepers with flashing lights, dogs and people, full
on 24 hours a day, and she coped really well. In fact she was so well-behaved she had many compliments and quite a few fans by the end of the clinic.

I am sure that the Primero has helped and their coats have stayed glossy all through the winter. Both of them have had sandcracks and Polka has had white-line disease. They are both kept bare-foot and the farrier says their feet are really good now. I would finish by saying that both horses really love the taste of Primero. Polka is usually a very fussy eater, but she is salivating while I am preparing it!

"Primero has kept our expectant Mares in excellent condition and since foaling they have maintained their 'bloom'. All the horses love it and now the foals are growing, they get a handful too.

"Suffolk or 'Suffolk Punch' horses were developed in medieval times by farmers of eastern England and were used to till and harvest the land. To work at turning the heavy clay soil, the horse needed to be very powerful and possess health, stamina, longevity and docility. The breed dates back to the 16th century and today they are listed as a rare breed with about 200 of them in England."

"We have been using Primero Total for about 4 years, and have found it the most versatile and consistent feed ever. With a lot of different ponies and horses on the yard, various ages and work patterns, it is an absolute delight to be able to feed quckly and easily based on quantity alone to meet their individual needs and schedules.

"We drive a team of hackneys, a breed which are renowned for their explosive temperaments. But we are able to keep them fit and sensible on this feed regime. Coats are always shining, and condition is easily maintained for the hard physical work that they have to do.

"We always have peace of mind knowing that they are getting everything they need, and there is no need for complicated or expensive supplements. Just what nature intended. Rations can be increased or reduced without creating an inbalance. Like most horse owners, we are busy people and keep more horses than we should. So the convenience of having a consistent and well formulated feed delivered fresh from the mill whenever we need it saves us a huge amount of work and worry.

"Anyone seriously interested in horse nutrition cannot fail to be impressed by the careful formulation of this feed."

We have two rescue ponies aged 2 and 20, an Irish draft, an Irish Draft cross thoroughbred, and a Warmblood. The larger horses are professionally schooled each week and compete at Dressage. Total feed is completely natural and designed for the equine itself. I love the fact we don't need to add supplements because the most useful and important supplements have already been added. It's great for fussy eaters and it's amazing that we can feed it to our ponies and our horses of 17.2hh in completely different lifestyles. Total produces safe and positive energy without the fizz of cereals.

I have been showing and competing for 30 years. I am a pioneer of many new equine concepts particularly in the field of racing, and we now own a racehorse Gulliver who also races calmly and successfully on Total, the same feed! Total really is a one feed is all your need philosophy?

Ed Creamer, Advanced Dressage Trainer and Competitor, first trained with Zoe Coldgate, Grand Prix rider and later with Andrew Gould.  He then spent 2 years in Germany training with George and Monica Theoderescu who possess 3 Olympic Gold team medals and 2 consecutive World Cup titles. Ed is now based at Churt in Surrey at his own yard and trains and teaches whilst competing his own two horses, a Dutch Warmblood and Lusitano x Shire both at Advanced dressage levels.

Ed reports "I only feed Primero Equine Total to my whole yard and I find that onlyTotal enables my horses when working to maintain the same level of energy throughout. With other feeds, my horses would tire. Total is a unique feed that provides all the sustaining energy and nutritional requirements that help my horses consistently achieve top performance without tiring.

"I've noted that one of my client's horses, a 20 year old thoroughbred suffered poor weight condition and hoof condition when he came to me for training. Since being fed Total both conditions have improved to the point where my blacksmith has openly expressed his admiration for the improvement in hoof health.  Another thoroughbred in training is showing improved temperament and good hoof health since coming onto the feed. I simply couldn't imagine feeding anything else now. Total is the highest calibre feed a discerning competitor or trainer could use"
